Thiemo Storz is ready for the last Formula 2 race-weekend of the season in Barcelona. Thiemo showed a great performance at the previous race-weekend in Monza. The German wants to keep this performance for the last race of the season. Finally it will be important for him to finish his very first season in Formula 2 with a strong result in Barcelona. Thiemo has already some experience on the spanish racing circuit from the 2010 Winter-Tests. It was his second test in the F2 car after a 2-days test in Portimao last winter.

Thiemo Storz showed his best Race-Weekend in Monza!

The german had a very unlucky weekend in Austria where he didn’t score any points in the Championship. But this weekend in Monza everything had to turn around. Thiemo felt very comfortable on the track which he already knew from his Formula Renault Career. On Friday he finished the first free practice in P9. They did just a few small improvements for the second free practice where he finished in P5. It was an amazing beginning of the weekend. Formula 2 reached more than 210 km/h average speed in Monza. The top speed was pretty close to the 300 km/h benchmark. Thiemo qualified in P8 for the race on Saturday. It was a hard fight during the race to hold the position and take advantage of other drivers slipstream. Finally Thiemo finished in P7 and scored important points for the championship. Thiemo planed to break into the Top 5 for Sunday. During the Qualifying he had to wait for many laps to find a good position on the track for his perfect lap. In the last minute he set his time and finished in P5. It was not far away from his expectations. Thiemo did a great start and managed to overtake the driver in P4. His pace was good enough to keep the connection to the first 3 drivers. Almost a perfect race but finally the driver behind him did an inexplicable movement. He bumped for an incomprehensible reason into Thiemo and another car at the breaking point for “Lessmo I”.  It was a sad moment for the German to be out in P4 without knowing why!? Nothing at all Thiemo showed his best performance this weekend and had the pace to be on the top. The next event takes place in Barcelona by the end of October.

Thiemo Storz is ready for the traditional Italian Grand Prix in Monza! It is the second last race-weekend of the FIA Formula 2 Championship 2011 before the final showdown in Barcelona in October.

Thiemo competed already in Monza during his Formula Renault 2.0 Career with CO2 Motorsport. It is definitely a tricky circuit. Long straights but also heavy breaking points for slow corners. It’s not all about free way for a perfect lap, some slipstreaming at the right time will help to win some tenth.

Nothing at all it will be an exciting race event from Friday the 30.09.2011 until Sunday 02.10.2011 in Monza.
