Thiemo Storz finished his very first Formula Palmer Audi race in Rockingham in position 2. The German secured his fourth start position in the Qualifying for both Races. Thiemo was one of the drivers who kept an eye on his bends during the Qualifying and saved them for the long race. His start of the first race was not really good. Especially using the boost button for more power until the first corner. However Thiemo could gain some of the lost places on the start by a tricky maneuver in the first corner. In position three he waited for his chance to overtake the driver in front of him. In the middle of the race Thiemo claimed the second position. Without any troubles he finished his very first FPA race in position two and moreover he did the fastest lap time in the race. The start of race two was really not one of his best starts in his career, absolutely not. Unfortunately in corner three a inattentive driver crashed into Thiemos rear shortly after the breaking-point. The infield usually is never a safe place in motorsport. However the race weekend, especially the first race was an awesome result, more than some have expected.

Just some days before the race weekend in Rockingham, the FPA presents on their website their new driver Thiemo Storz from Germany. Thiemo joined the FPA championship for midway round at Rockingham Speedway. It will be Thiemos very first race in the Formula Palmer Audi race-car. Despite such success, Storz remains realistic ahead of his first race in Formula Palmer Audi, and insists his main target is to learn and gain experience rather than securing a specific race finish.

After another successfully test day in the Formula Palmer Audi race car in Bedford, Thiemo will compete his very first race in this car. On the next weekend he will travel to the Rockingham Speedway in Great Britain. Fortunately Thiemo still had the possibility to test the Formula Palmer Audi race car in the rain. In any case for Rockingham everything should be perfect. His last test day in Bedford was quite very mixed with rain, sun and wind. The best conditions to get the very best feeling of the car and moreover to practice in the rain.

„I feel very well prepared for Rockingham right now. The two weeks of testing in Bedford helped me a lot to get much more self confident with the Formula Palmer Audi car. I know that Rockingham will be my very first race in this car, but I have a very good feeling. In this race it won’t be important for me to fight for the championship, sure, but it doesn’t mean that we will sleep. I will do my absolutely best, no question. “

Thiemo took part on more than ten test-days in Bedford but always under dry conditions. Unbelievable for England, a country which is usually famous for rainy and wet days. However the sunny weather made it possible for the FPA Team and Thiemo to test some more starts in the Formula Palmer Audi race car before Rockingham. Last weekend Thiemo drove to the Rockingham Speedway to get an idea of what is going to expect him in less than ten days. But Thiemo is still relative relaxed and positive regarding to the coming event. Today Thiemo tested some more race situations in the FPA car. The result of the tests were awesome. This kind of success will give him much more self confidence and strength in the FPA car. Moreover Thiemo was about three tenth faster than another Spanish experienced FPA Driver, who tested today as well. Tomorrow it will be the last test-day for Thiemo on his “home circuit” in Bedford, before he will do his very first FPA race in Rockingham.

Thiemo spent his last days together with the instructors and a group of visitors out of the cockpit. On Friday it’s time for him to be back in the car for another test day. The program of the day was quite busy. During the morning sessions the team was concentrated to find a good set up of the car. Thiemos driver coach explained him very carefully how to run a successfully qualifying in FPA. With a new set of tyres they tested a qualifying situation on the track. After they analyzed the hot laps on the computer. The driver coach explained Thiemo very well the next step of the program, the race. The driver must be absolutely concentrated for thirty minutes and use all of his power. Even in stressed moments during a race he must keep a cool head and be sure when it will be the right decision to use the limited boosts. Thiemo finished the race with a constant and very quick pace. An absolutely great result. During the free weekend, Thiemo will have some time to relax and prepare everything for the coming tests on the next week.
